Calgary outdoor summer cake smash

This is a lovely follow up to the last blog discussing the difference between indoor and outdoor photo shoots for children.

I have always wanted to do an outdoor cake smash and finally got the chance this summer! It was a great experience for everyone and would definitely do it again.

We chose Reader Rock Garden due to the beautiful flowers and shade the location offers. Lighting is always best in the early morning or evening so we met up at 9:30am. Bright mid-day light is the enemy of great photos.

This adorable little birthday girl enjoyed being outside in the warm weather and playing with her cake. She got right into it, even kicking the cake with her feet. It was hilarious and heart warming to watch!
