Dana and I used to work together so I was thrilled to learn she is expecting her first baby in September 2019 and wanted me to do some maternity photos of her and her partner Rocky. They are such a sweet couple and will make amazing parents!

For this photo shoot we went to Princes Island Park. It is one of my favourite locations because there is so much variety in one location. It’s the same reason I like the foodcourt. Hey what can I say, I’m a cheap date! There is everything in Princes Island park; gardens, the city skyline, the bow river, walkways, a water-fountain, so many trees and much more. It is a bit dangerous for me because I feel like I could stay there forever finding more cool places to take photos. We started the photo shoot at nine at night because the sun was setting on this day at 9:52pm and the hour before sunset is the “golden hour” which is so flattering and beautiful and free of too much high and bright light. Once the sun sets the twilight hour after that is also perfect. With the buildings surrounding us the sun was down sooner so we got a lot of nice photos in the shade which is what I always scout for, but is more difficult to find in the afternoon. Lucky for me Dana and Rocky did not mind meeting me at this late hour.

Overall it was a great photo shoot. Congrats to the mama and papa to be!
