Confetti fun with my little man
Xandre is 5 already and starting kindergarten in the fall! We have watched him go through many phases over the last 5 years, as every parent knows they change so much sometimes even just from one day to the next.
One thing we have always done is photo shoots. When he was a baby I photographed everything he did of course lol. When we moved into our current home and I set up my studio he was right there with me, sitting on the back backdrop saying “be your model mommy”? He was usually pretty good at cooperating as I tried to make it a positive experience by keeping the shoots short and giving him some treats during the session. Usually I would have an idea and pick out the backdrop and his clothes for it and then he would play on the backdrop and eat a cupcake or some other treat.
Now that he is 5 he has his own ideas for photo shoots! Although he is still cooperative when I have an idea for a session he is unlikely to wear what I tell him. He also knows my backdrops and has specific ideas for them. His wish is my command when it comes to photo shoots! I am glad he is not only willing to participate but now having his own inspiration for our shoots.
Xandre really wanted to do a glitter photo shoot. I think he saw something on Pinterest one day when I was scrolling through there looking for ideas and he did not forget that girl throwing glitter!
I set up the bokeh backdrop and we bought a bag of glitter/confetti at party city. Photoshoots with toddlers and kids never last too long but he sure had fun playing with the confetti. We also put on the bubble machine and he was chasing bubbles and covered in confetti.
One lesson I learned is not to combine bubble with confetti. Maybe this should have been obvious but it caused the confetti to stick to everything and made it harder to clean. I am still finding bit of it in the studio lol.
