I have heard the term “boy mom” for quite some time. It seemed pretty popular and I rarely heard moms talk about being a “girl mom” and I wondered why. You can even find t-shirts and other items that say “boy-mom”. #boymom is a real trend.
“My friend asked me what it was like to live in a house of boys so I peed on her bathroom floor, ate everything in her fridge, told her 800 stories about Minecraft, farted 20 times, and when she was ready to kill me I gave her a hug and told her she was pretty”
Now that I am a boy mom I get it! Having a toddler is a crazy ride and having a boy toddler is like being transported to another planet. I’m confused, bruised, and wondering what that smell is. Here are some things I experience, maybe girl moms experience the same!
Having a child that wants to wrestle and bite and roughhouse on a regular basis. Seriously, I have a lot of bruises. Did I tickle him too much as a baby? Why does he have this time to initiate the WWE every day?
Watching Bob the Builder and having the theme song stuck in my head ALL DAY.
Playing with toy trucks, cars, boats and planes, and making sounds I didn’t even know I could imitate.
Looking on google to see when the next monster truck or train show will be in town.
Having a living room full of small vehicles. 63 trucks and cars to be exact!
Trying to relax and watch tv and having my son set a truck on the top of my head. I didn’t get through this monster truck shoot without having the truck set upon my back as I was lying on my tummy taking photos.
Being able to identify an excavator, front loader, bulldozer etc.
Pointing out big trucks in the street to my son.
Learning how to operate a remote control monster truck and thinking it’s actually really fun!
Cleaning up a an entire room and having watching it get totally destroyed again in 2 minutes by one tiny human. And not learning the lesson because I still don’t understand how this is possible.
Having my heart completely filled with so much love it’s going to burst.
Being a mom is a rollercoaster of love and mess, but being a boy mom is the best!
