Super sweet maternity and newborn photo shoot

I know this beautiful mama as she used to teach my son, so I was overjoyed when she contacted me to do her maternity and newborn photos!

The weather in Calgary at the time was still a bit unpredictable so we did the session indoors. I don’t have a huge selection of backdrops for maternity photos but there is blue, green, cream, grey and pink and those from. I hope to add more to the collection this year!

For the maternity session she brought a few beautiful dresses and then we chose the backdrops to match. I would love to have a maternity wardrobe to offer clients but currently there is not enough space in this wee studio. It is not necessary to have the outfits and backdrops contrast each other but it’s good to have them match.

Parents to-be and brand new parents are always so adorable and these two are extra cute! No surprise their baby is also beautiful. Look at all that hair!

For the newborn session they wanted mostly neutrals with some blue. Little Emmanuel took a while to fall asleep but once he was in a deep slumber things were easy peasy. He didn’t want to be on his tummy and I didn’t want to bother him too much so we left him happy on his back. Keeping things simple and baby comfortable is the best option.
