I wasn’t even sure if I would do fall minis this year but am sure glad I did. I suppose the reason for my hesitation is the unpredictable weather in Calgary. Luckily the weather this fall was unbelievably warm and gorgeous!

With the help of my lovely assistant Lori, I photographed 21 beautiful families this year and it was truly amazing.

We had a good mix of people including families with babies, families with older children, adult brother and sister, a family with their adult kids, two sisters and their families, a few people brought their dogs, two sets of twin babies, and much more! I love seeing everyones outfits because it reflects their individual family. From laid back in jeans to dressed up and matching, everyone looked fantastic. Some families I have photographed in the past, it was wonderful to see them again!

I always chose the third weekend of September for fall minis because it is usually still warm enough for everyone to be comfortable outdoors. This year was usually warm even at night so the trees were still quite quite green compared to last year. Everyone in Calgary would agree, you never know what the weather will bring. After all, we had a snowstorm on September 28th back in 2019!

Sessions this year were at Glenfield Meadows in Fish Creek Park. This location is great because the creek is easily accessible and there are tons of trees and beautiful paths. The kids love to throw rocks in the water and it’s so shallow so it is very safe for little ones.
